Topics to be discussed:

          The topics below will be discussed in break out sessions made up of small 
          groups comprised of those interested in the topic, and one or more medical
          professionals.

  • Post ARDS challenges (cognitive issues, ongoing health issues,
    anxiety/depression issues, sleep problems, dental problems)

  • Pulmonary/rehabilitative challenges (living with oxygen, rehabilitation,
    how to know the signs more rehab is needed, after hospital care, life
    changes due to ARDS)

  • Family of Survivors Issues (How ARDS has impacted family members, how to
    deal with your emotions that a loved one has had a “near-death” experience,
    the helplessness of ARDS, how to deal with family members emotions, how to
    keep the lines of communication open, how to spot the signs that the
    survivor may need further follow-up medical care)

  • New research in the treatment of ARDS


This unique conference will offer participants the opportunity to share
their ARDS experience with both medical professionals and other ARDS
survivors. The program is designed into smaller sessions conducted by a
medical professional who will facilitate the discussion and allows the
choice of which discussion group the participant would like to attend.
